Luwayne Thomas Bsc., Msc.
Luwayne is the Chief Operating Officer and has overseen the company’s development since inception. His business acumen and leadership skills has resulted in consistent growth in Balcostics’ clientele. He has also consulted on several research projects with organizations such as the World Bank, USAID, The Nature Conservancy, among several others.
Luwayne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Economics and Social Statistics (BESS) from the University of the West Indies and a Master of Science degree in Economics from said University.
Profile 2: Legal Counsel & Project Manager
Abi-Gaye White-Thomas B.A, LLB.
Abi-Gaye is an Attorney-at-Law and is instrumental in the logistics for field work. She has been working for the past six years as a Field Work Manager managing projects such as the ‘1069 face-to-face interviews at Jamaica’s two major airports & across all major tourist sites with fourteen data collectors’, household surveys of ‘654 community members in St. Catherine with eight data collectors’ and conducting Mall Intercept Surveys across major shopping towns in Jamaica with ‘415 consumers’ to name a few.
Abi-Gaye is also responsible for the training of our Data Collectors in both ‘face-to-face interviews’ and ‘telephone interviews’.
Profile 3: Lead Researcher – Climate/Environmental Studies
David Walters Bsc.,Ms
David is a holder of a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography as well as a Masters of Science in Natural Resource Management from the University of the West Indies. He has over five years of experience in environmental research and three years experience scoping requirements and implementing projects as a systems analyst.
With wide interests from geographic information systems and data analysis to climate change research and adaptation strategies for our region, David applies a generalist perspective to come up with comprehensive solutions for problems. He is well versed in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies as well as legal issues surrounding the environment and development.
Profile 4: Research- Business Analyst
Thereece Stewart BSc. MBA
Thereece holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of the West Indies and is accredited by the UTech/JIM-School of Advance Management with a Certificate in Jamaican Securities.
Thereece is an avid reader who is guided principally by intellect and sound judgement. She possesses excellent analytic skills and has a keen eye for details.
Profile 5: Data Manager
Cordoan Thomas BSc.
Cordoan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information & Communication Technology. He has been in the field of Data Processing for over five years with Balcostics.
He is also a professional photographer who enjoys the outdoors .
