Island-wide sentiment surveys with myVoice

myVoice is the survey platform we built for Jamaica. Use the online panel for a fast read, or send interviewers out with the offline app where people are not online.

myVoice is our own platform at myvoice.page. On 1 October 2026 the public hub stats showed 6,063 active registered members, surveys open across 14 parishes, 157 Research Hub surveys and 22 organisations. Members self-select and earn points. Treat every figure below as a read on that panel, dated that day, not as a census of Jamaica.

The product splits in two. The Research Hub is online. The field collector is offline CAPI for interviewers. How myVoice works walks through tiers, points and how to unlock public findings. This page is the choice between a panel and a sampled field survey.

The online panel

Researchers post a survey. Members answer on their phones and earn points for a completed survey, never for each question. You can target parishes on a Pro survey. On Enterprise you can also target gender, age, income and diaspora, with a premium of 0, 25 or 50 percent. Enterprise adds open answers with sentiment and themes, cross-tabs, and push distribution. The sentiment feature calls an external AI model.

Results open once 20 people have completed the survey. The CSV is anonymised. You see parish, age group and gender, and education or employment if you asked. You do not see names or emails. Counts shown in the Hub leave out flagged and duplicate accounts.

Sign-up for a researcher account is myvoice.page/login. The Hub itself is myvoice.page/research.

The offline field collector

Where the respondent is not on the app, interviewers use the field collector at myvoice.page/field. It captures offline and syncs later. Each case stores contact attempts. A household roster and random (Kish) selection sit in the instrument. GPS is taken at the start and the finish, and supervisors get a flag when the interview is more than 500 metres from the address. Each question stores timing. Roles are enumerator, supervisor and manager.

The collector runs on Android devices. It costs the study owner 10,000 myVoice points a month. Interviewers use it free.

A sampled face-to-face survey can use this collector, CSPro or SurveyCTO. That choice is on the CAPI and CATI page. The panel and the field sample answer different questions. Do not merge their files and call the result one national estimate.

Indicative cost

These are indicative 2026 quotation-model figures. The model is dated May 2026. Panel prices are all-island. Face-to-face ranges are our estimates for comparison.

Respondents myVoice panel Face-to-face (our estimate)
100 about J$70,000 J$180,000 to J$250,000
300 about J$186,000 J$540,000 to J$750,000
600 about J$324,000 J$1.1 million to J$1.5 million
1,000 about J$470,000 J$1.8 million to J$2.5 million

Per respondent, the panel guide is about J$470 to J$700. The face-to-face guide is about J$1,800 to J$2,500. Points packs, tier fees and the 5 percent Enterprise tax are separate. They are listed on how myVoice works. The server shows the points cost before you launch a Hub survey.

When to use the panel, and when to sample

Use the panel when you need a direction this week: a message test, a price reaction, a parish comparison inside the app's membership. Members joined because they wanted to, and they are paid in points. That is useful. It is not a probability sample of Jamaican adults.

Use a sampled field survey when a ministry, a lender or a journal will treat the number as an estimate for a defined population. We then recruit and supervise interviewers in the selected enumeration areas. The panel can run at the same time, as an early read, while the field sample is still in the parishes.

Use both when the decision needs speed and a defensible estimate. Say that when you write. We will not swap one for the other after you have published a margin of error the panel cannot support.

To commission either route, send sample size, mode, parishes, timeline and budget range via the quote page. To run the Hub yourself, start at myvoice.page/login.

Questions buyers ask

Is the myVoice panel a probability sample?

No. Members choose to join and earn points for completed surveys. The panel is for direction and speed. When the result has to stand as a population estimate, we field a sampled survey. The panel can run beside that survey. It does not replace it.

How much is an all-island panel of 1,000?

About J$470,000 in indicative 2026 quotation-model figures (model dated May 2026), roughly J$470 a respondent. The same model is about J$70,000 for 100, J$186,000 for 300, and J$324,000 for 600. Our face-to-face estimate for 1,000 is J$1.8 million to J$2.5 million.

What do we receive?

An anonymised export: parish, age group and gender, plus education or employment where the survey asked them. Names and email addresses are not in the file. Published counts drop flagged and duplicate accounts. One redeeming account is allowed per device.

Can Balcostics run the survey for us?

Yes. Send your scope and we design, program, launch and report, online, offline, or both. You can also run it yourself in the Research Hub. The steps, tiers and points prices are on the how myVoice works page.
